Operating in the twilight zone between horror and pleasure, Akkajee (Iida Savolainen & Meriheini Luoto) builds a larger-than-life sound from acoustic strings and vocals, shifting sound sources, and electronics. The Dust Collector (Pölynkerääjä) entity, performed at Kino Tapiola with the Oma Ensemble choir (cond. Maija Laurinsilta), delves into time — its passing, its relativity, and its cyclicality. Church bells, a decaying body, and an abandoned house resonate as narrating voices, inviting us to face reality beyond an individual-centric perspective; through the chains of generations and the cycle of life. Inspired by dust, cellular events, and fungal mycelium, this performance invites the listener to the edge of subconscious landscapes and inexplicable beauty.
